I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher based at the Center for War Studies, University of Southern Denmark working with Professor Ingvild Bode on a new project examining the global testing and development of swarm and “attritable mass” capabilities. Before this, I was a Leverhulme Trust Early Career Research Fellow based at Royal Holloway, University of London.
My research explores the intersection of technology, war, and culture, with a particular focus on great power competition, military applications of AI, and security imaginaries.
My research has been published in leading International Relations journals such as Cooperation and Conflict, Contemporary Security Policy, Defence Studies, Geopolitics, and International Politics, as well as social science journals like Big Data & Society and Ethics and Information Technology.
I have written research commentaries for outlets including the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the Royal United Services Institute, among others. I have also been invited to serve as an expert advisor on air warfare for a United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research project on lethal autonomous weapon systems.
In addition to my research, I am an award-winning university lecturer and active contributor to the international governance debates on military applications of AI.
I also have experience speaking to journalists at the New York Times, Forbes, and Nature about my research, and am happy to receive further media enquires.
